Today, I would like to begin to share a software that I have been using for the last year and to be frankly, it has been one of the most awesome thing to use when using some sort of a manager for PHP.
What is Composer
Composer is a tool for PHP that allows you to manage libraries in a single project that will help you install and upgrade projects such as PHP. When you use composer it will create a new folder called vendor and inside of this folder is lies all of your PHP dependencies, projects to a specific project.
Since composer uses PHP as its dependency, we will then need to download and install PHP to a specific version that I will be using for this demonstration. The version that I will be using for this is version: 7.2.10
You will need to download php first and the way to do it for windows is to go to windows.php.net and click on Downloads, from here you will see mainly all php versions and the one we want is the PHP 7.2.x version that is available and you want to choose Threaded Safe
After you have downloaded the zip and unzip the folder of the php. What I like to do is to copy the files to the Program Files/PHP/v7.2.x depending on the version you have.
Head over to getcomposer.org and download and install the composer.exe file and it will then automatically search for the version of PHP you just install and bam, you’re done.
